Practical estate maintenance beyond ordinary gardening
Country estates and larger rural properties bring together grassland, access tracks, boundaries, drainage and working areas. Looking after them often requires more than a gardening team but not a different specialist for every task. We provide practical grounds and infrastructure work using our own plant and an experienced regional team.
The scope can be a one-off improvement project, a seasonal programme or a mixture of scheduled maintenance and responsive repairs.

Paddocks, gateways and wet ground
High-traffic gateways and shaded paddock edges often fail first. Repeatedly adding loose stone rarely fixes the cause if water has nowhere to go or the sub-base is being pushed into soft ground. We can investigate the problem and combine drainage, geotextile and a suitable compacted build-up where appropriate.
Paddock topping and grass cutting can be completed as a standalone visit or alongside fencing, drainage and access work. We check ground conditions and hidden obstacles before agreeing the machinery and timing.
Tracks and access infrastructure
Estate tracks need to shed water and stand up to the vehicles using them. We can reshape failed areas, improve falls, form ditches or cross-drainage and rebuild sections with suitable stone. Work can cover private roads, woodland access, yard approaches and routes between paddocks or buildings.
For busier entrances and service yards, we can provide a heavier groundworks or surfaced specification rather than treating the area as a simple farm track.
A proportionate service for each property
Some estates need regular help across several workstreams; others need an experienced team for a concentrated clearance or repair project. We inspect the site, prioritise access and safety issues and provide a clear scope without trying to turn every visit into a major scheme.
