Schools have an unforgiving calendar. Term times are sacred — work has to fit around them, around children, around staff, around parents at drop-off and pick-up. We've delivered grounds and groundworks for primary and secondary schools across Yorkshire, and we plan to that calendar from the first conversation onwards.
We schedule disruptive work into half-term and summer holiday windows wherever possible. Where work has to run during term time, we work around the hours that matter — plant kept well clear of pedestrian routes, active workings fenced off properly, the site tidied at the end of every day, vehicles in and out via agreed routes.
Practically: you get a foreman you can call directly, not a regional manager three sites away. We're 10 strong with our own plant fleet, so we mobilise to a defined schedule and don't disappear off mid-job to chase a more profitable site. If we say we're starting Monday, we're starting Monday.

Scope of works
Schools share a fairly consistent set of needs across sites: a playground or MUGA that's safe and well-drained, a perimeter that's secure, paths and parking that work for children and vehicles, and the foundations for whatever building's going up next. We deliver across the full set.
Hard landscaping and playground surfacing covers MUGAs (multi-use games areas), tarmac and resin playgrounds, kerbing, drainage gullies and line marking. Resurface, refresh or build from scratch — we lay the sub-base properly so the surface lasts.
For fencing, we handle site perimeters, segregation between car parks and pedestrian routes, mesh and palisade for security, and boundary fencing on rural school sites. Standard heights and specs to suit your safeguarding policy.
Drainage and surface water is a common school problem — waterlogged playgrounds and pitches that go out of use for weeks at a time. We dig out and reinstate with proper land drains, soakaways or attenuation depending on what the ground will take. SuDS on new schemes and connections to existing drainage where the site has to integrate.
Tarmac, paths and car parks cover staff and visitor parking, drop-off zones and safe walking routes. For new-build classrooms or extension projects we deliver foundations, slabs and external works so the building can go up cleanly.
